The Purpose Of Pain

Suffering has existed since before we were born. Why? This question has been around for a long time. If God is a loving God, why does He allow us to suffer. Why must humans suffer? Why is life painful? Is it true that if everything came so easy and that everything was perfect, we wouldn’t appreciate life?

There is something to learn from everything we experience both good and bad. Life on earth is a learning experience. Pain is a sign that something is wrong whether mental, emotional, or physical. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling.

How do we grow if everything is perfect? There is no need. Complacency can be no fun. After awhile we grow bored. Change is good. In order to change we have to make an effort. In a way, pain can move us to change.

If things are painful and you are hurting or are sad, you probably don’t want to experience it for long. But many of us do. Naturally, we want to be out of our pain. If we have too much pain and there is no relief, that’s when we can become hopeless.

But there is always hope. Some just are not able to see this when they are in that state. The mind can be powerful and it can be very weak. We are capable of overcoming many obstacles physically, emotionally, and mentally.

When we realize that it’s ok to hurt, it’s ok to cry, and it’s ok to experience pain even though its uncomfortable; somehow understanding this can help to ease our pain. To experience these things is a part of our existence. We can suffer and we can heal as well.

The hard part is learning how to heal. Not everyone heals from there pain the same way. No one wants to exist in pain. Ultimately everyone wants to be happy and free.

How do we acheive this? That is the mystery. The answers are not just given to us. We have to search and dig deep.

The keys are not just laid on the table for just anyone to grab. Life is not that easy. We have to work for it. And work is good for us. Everything worth while takes effort. Life takes effort. Without putting any effort worth, life would not exist.

It’s about energy. Our energy we put out is important. Negative experiences can create negative thoughts, which in turn has a negative impact on our lives. But we have the power to change negative situations into positive ones by changing our energy, by changing our minds.

When things are good, we feel good. When things are bad we feel bad. How can we not feel bad when bad things happen?

By learning that it is possible to train your mind and body to become stronger, healthier, and happier. This is where true strength lies. We can overcome many negative situations with the power of our minds by training our brains to not let negative people, situations, or problems get to us. Of course, this is not easy. It takes alot of practice.

We are not perfect. Our mental, emotional, and physical disabilities can hold us back from healing and growing into a healthier and happier being. I say “being” instead of “human being” because I am a spiritual person who believes that our souls go on after this life. I believe we are ever evolving beings. And our growth depends on us individually. As individuals, we can grow and learn from our experiences in life or we can stay complacent. The choice is up to us.

Everything that is a problem has a solution. Some problems are bigger and harder to figure out. Life can be complex and not everything is easy. But even some of the most complicated questions have answers.

Matthew 7:7-“…knock and the door will be open to you…” If you keep looking for answers and never give up, eventually you are going to figure it out. We can learn from pain whether physical, emotional, or mental. It is part of our evolution as human beings. Pain can be our teacher. Realizing this can help to ease our suffering. Pain does not exist forever. There is hope and healing is possibly for all of us.
